Hay everyone, I just had one of those weekends at the the track that reminds me why I love doing this. I have not been out raceing much this summer dew to the fact that my team manger and father/best friend was diginosed with Cancer early this spring. Saddly he lost his battle on Aug. 16.
Last weekend was the first time I had been out sence his passing, I had many people stop by and give there sympathy, and offer a ear if I ever needed any one to talk to. I was going to run both cars, somthing I had never done by myself before, after the second time run the Stocker had developed a bad miss and due to rain in the forcast they were pushing the program to try and get it in before the clouds open up. I went up in the dragster made my time run and when I got back to the trailer I had about 12 other racers there pulling the MSD out of the Stocker and replacing it so I could make first round. All of this was done just out of the kindness of there harts, as the day went on I was in the semis in both classes, I had many people at the trailer helping get the cars ready for the next round, helping out how ever I wanted. I ended up winning the box class and runner up in no-box. On my way back home I figured out that as much as I like the speed and the compation, if it was not for the other people at the track I would sell everythign and go fishing. I just wanted to tell everyone that no good deed is ever forgot, I will probley never forget this weekend, not because of the win, because of all the people who helped me keep raceing, when my father died, I was ready to give it up but I was getting 15 calls a day to get me back at the track. I will never forget it,
THANK YOU
Andy
