Number of cars at the track?

Just wondering if the car count was down everywhere and what as racers are going to do about it and the cost of just getting to the track. And now the tracks are cutting the purses and I'm not blamming them but pretty soon some of these tracks are going to shut down and when is the last time you seen one open back up?

Well Jason, things here at Bandimere seem to be going well. All the bracket events are well attended, and contested. I had thought that our "club clash" was a little off this season, but a number of different racers have led me to believe that the count is not down significantly relative to the last couple of seasons. I have missed those seasons, so can't say for sure.

Anyway, racers are towing to Bandimere from many of the surronding states. A lot further than I would have towed when fuel wasn't an "issue".

The purses are modest here, as they have always been, so I don't see that as an issue either.

I think we are just blessed with a lot of hard core bracket racers. Wish it were that way elsewhere, but I do understand that other parts of the country have different problems, and what works here may not work there.

Car counts have been droping fast in stock and superstock and last weekend Larry Dixon made a bi-run in the first round of Top Fuel. How long has it been since we had short fields in Pro classes?

We've been going to the IHRA Pro Am Series and the fuel cost of just traveling there is killing us....but what can we do about it, we are hooked and devoted to racing and winning

...We feel like the count has gone considerably lower for the Pro Am series and even at Budds Creek MIR, it wasn't that great,  it just seems a bit lower for the big events that people have to travel to.

The local racers from MIR and VMP seem about the same, though.  Let's see what happens with the President's Cup at MIR this weekend....

And did you all know that Atco is having a 10 k Race for both IHRA and NHRA MEMBERS this Wednesday in Super Stock.

The car count was down in the beginning of the season, but it seems to be bouncing back now.

Car count is average to low in Ohio, I sure do miss racing VA and NC. I found the easy solution to the high cost of fuel. Blow your motor and be forced to sit back and watch. Still spending the money but not on fuel !!!!!!

Car counts are down here in Kansas as well. We are fortunate to live 20 miles from the track we race at. It is a shame fuel prices are putting everyone in a pinch.

Our car counts have fluxuated here in Norwalk,Ohio.  The first couple of points meets  we only had a handful of cars in Sportsman, but last weekend the lanes were packed!  I live about 40 minutes from the track and it costs me $45 just in the truck to pull out there, another $50 or so to race the car (pump gas)...then we have to eat and drink!  Oh yeah there is also the price of admission for the weekend too.  I am building a low 10 second s10 right now and I dont know if I will be able to afford it or not.
