i wanted to do a belly pan but then found out its not legal for ihra so i guess i will have to leave my back panels off and rap the framerails and all[dragster with dry sump] talk about a pain. and ugly to!

I may be missing something but I cant see where Quick Rod (IHRA) requires the blanket. Am I missing something or do I need one? Or is it a NHRA thing? My dragster only runs mid 4's in the 1/8...

For diapers, give Dennis at DRE a call.  He's helpful and very fast.  You won't be dissappointed.

I'm interested to see how this blanket/belly pan thing shakes out.The only thing I have ever run a blanket on was a glide.

If the belly pan only has to be 2" deep and doesen't have to have a cert. I really think that is gonna be the hot ticket for most of us.

Most of us have or have access to a tinbender and even though it may take a little longer to engineer in the long run it would be easier and cheaper for the bellypan(because it can be made per app.).

It also will help with the aero aspects too, although that's prolly a moot point for the most part.

I got one for s/st it was very hard to get it under the pan as my 80 monza is very tight anyway, I made a pan but mounting it was a pain and it had interferance with the suspension , the bag had to have nomex because of the headers are tight, a extra $100.00 for that.  I'm worried about my steering arms getting it in front and yes it very close to the flywheel too

Thanks Beegodwin....The way everyone is talking I thought maybe I missed a rule change. I will go without until they tell me other wise. I have also heard that some tracks required it even if the rules dont..... With the cost of everything going up (except our wages) maybe I will become a spectator for a while. Oh well good luck everyone..

I was under the impression that it was optional but that the  pan had to be as high as the crank centerline.

I haven't seen a rule book lately though. My impression was from "word around the campfire" so to speak.

I'll definitely have to look into that.

I just put a diaper on my car and noticed it rubs on the flywheel after the first race. It doesnt rub that much just enough to make a faint wear pattern but it still concerned me a little. But what really bothers me now is the second race i went out i did a monster wheelie (nothing new for my car) but i went straight for the wall and had to breathe it to get it to ocme down a little sooner. Went to check it all after the run and saw that the diaper was all chewed and scraped on the bottom. That really pissed me off, haha
