Couple of things are incorrect on my profile!  I live in Arizona, not Alabama and it wouldn't let me put my birthdate correctly as it should be 1941, not 1943 which as far back as it would go.  I have been derag racing, off and on, for 50 years!  Entered and won my first race 50 years ago this year (2008) and am still an active

bracket and Super Street racer.  Currently have three generations of my family that may race on the same night as my daughter who is now 31 and has been racing since she was 16.  She has a daughter and two sons and the daughter (14) and one of the sons have Jr. Dragsters.  The other races Big Wheels at some races!  Glad to be on board!

1. keep up the good racing, I'm catching up to you in age. I have only been doing this since the 60's by tshideler

No!  if you are too old, then so am I!  i'm 61 and racing and just thinking about it helps to keep young.

Welcome! I had a problem, when I joined. It only went back to '45. I found an email address somewhere and it was moved back to '43. I guess that they don't think us old guys can still be racing. LOL!

Hello all you 1941 people I thought when I was 20 that anybody over 50 was to old to race now i am 66 and still going strong. I do safe driving programs in schools Visit assist living homes and race. I am glad I retired so I could work so hard. People born in 1941 are still in the sport change your scale.

Been to Hell and back the last few years, healthwise, but am doing okay now!.  Had prostate removed as my 2004 Christmas present as it was showing up as cancerous!  For you old fella's looking for a good sleeping pill try Viagra, Cialis or Levitra!  Nothing will put you to sleep faster!  If they did anything for me I slept right through it!  I thought that was bad till I retired in May, 2007 and found out that the intitiation to retirement can be rough!  After one week at home doing a bunch of "honeydews" and as a result of having Chron's disease for 30 years or so, I went into the hospital with a hole blowed in my intestines!  Could not keep anything down and by the time they got me in for CT scan I was going into renal shutdown!  They removed 18" of intestines, my appendix and 4' of colon, sewed me back together and took 66 years worth of energy out of me for 3 months! Long recovery but still went racing to watch my daughter race my car and she made some rounds with it!  She got down to the final 8 cars in Super Street in my car at the 2007 CSK Nationals at Firebird International Raceway, about 5 miles from my home!  We both race 71 Camaros, mine is a Rally Sport and her's is a reguar Camaro, both with small blocks, mine with a 401 and her's with a 427.  I keep mine tuned so I won't run faster than 10.00 as it get's to costly to get in the 9's nowdays and I don't like a full firesuite in 110 degree racing out here in the desert!

Any of you ever get out this way, I'm in the phone book and always enjoy bench racing and the hottest mescan food there is!

great to see someone else from arizona on board, speaking of age , I am a crew member for a TOP ALCOHOL DRAGSTER TEAM ,I myself am 46, but get this the driver of the car is is 64 ... I just hope that I am that brave when I get to be that age. I mean ...come on it takes some big ones to run 5.30's at over 270 mph no matter how old you are .. so keep on mashin that pedal and grabin them gears...you shine brighter than the win light...

Just because we get old doesn't mean that we have to give up. As long as I keep my reflexes toned, I can put together a string of double 0 lights, and some times, it's hard for the "kids" to do that.
