hi just wanted to say welcome to my site, I don't get to use it as much as i want since i went back to work. I just dropped a valve in the racecar. R&M just called and said my heads are ready to pick up so i'll be back in it soon, keep the shinny side up Tom Shideler s/st 4662

well I finally did it, I traded in my old dually, 1990 chevy w/ a new 461 and 96,000 miles on it, for a new 2008 silverado crewcab 4x4 diesel {365 hp} got a great deal on it too

R&M has my heads, they look pretty good considering the dropped valve. wont take too much to get going again, maybe $300.00 which is fair. didn't hurt the block, got to go bye

went to TMP and raced a carclub race but didn't do well as a valve lost it's keeper during the burnout and tagged the piston. fortunately I was slowing it down when it let go so it only damaged the valve it'sself, the piston was fine as was the head, thankfully. R&M has the heads now for a change of keepers and valvejob + 1 valve. will keep ya'll informed later on, have a great year Tom

went to the 2 day's of racing and had a blast, didn't win but went to 2nd sat. lost 1rst rd sunday. the car ran good, next time i'll put in the plugs i bought a year ago, haha, might even check the timing and valves!! The quick 16 top qualifier went by me at 180mph but was too late getting there first rd. Then lost to a mopar{yuck} 2nd rd when I was dozing at the lights. just slap me next time! Hope some of you out there come by and say hi someday, see ya all in the funnypapers, Tom S.

2008 race time

trying to get going this year but my new job wants me to work saturdays, in April I will get some vacation days so I can make some then. My wife and I have been racing for over 30 years together and she hasn't killed me yet! I guess I'll keep her. We raced in s/c for many years also in s/st and brackets, winning the div 4 championship in 1988 for brackets. we have won more than fifty over the years but it still short of covering the bills for it, lol. we do it for the fun of it.
